I am quite proud of myself.... becoming a DIY bride has come easier to me than I previously thought it would. I have figured out exactly how we want to do the table-scapes at the reception, created some decorations for the ceremony, and made my invitations. I was especially excited about the invites because I know they can get very very expensive... my DIY invites came to a total of $70-- that is for the invites and the RSVP card. Saving a ton of money!
I was able to do all of this because, I think, we found the place we want to get married and this finally gave me inspiration i needed to envision my wedding! We have decided on Skylake Country Club in Sautee, GA (My grandmother's neighborhood-- just south of Helen). All the paper work is being turned in today & now we just have to be approved by the owners association. Fingers crossed again!
Hoping to have the ceremony on the grass (at the far left of the pic), the cocktial hour at the picnic area (@ covered area in mid/left of pic), and the reception in the room in the Clubhouse (building @ right).
The inside of the clubhouse is so beautiful-- they really did a great job with the renovation. Oil rubbed bronze chandliars hang from the ceiling w/ large beams and huge window looking at to the lake. And not to mention I walked thru the grass that would be the aisle and could totally invision the real thing. It was perfect!
